What is Z Nation about?

Z Nation treats the zombie apocalypse like a road trip movie where the vehicle occasionally breaks down and everyone argues about the map. A ragtag team escorts Murphy, a man bitten by a zombie but mysteriously immune, across a devastated country to a lab in California. The show has no interest in the grim, prestige-drama approach to end-times scenarios. Instead it finds comedy in the mundane disasters of survival, letting characters crack jokes while blood sprays and the undead shamble closer.

The show's real strength is its cast chemistry and willingness to be silly without becoming a parody. Keith Allan's Murphy walks a tricky line as both comedic relief and an increasingly untrustworthy protagonist whose immunity comes with disturbing side effects.
