What is The Studio about?

It's less "30 Rock" and more "Episodes," though without that show's complete cynicism.

The IMDb score sits well above most network comedies, and there's an audience that found something real in the show's skepticism about both studio culture and prestige film obsession. It appeals to people who work in creative industries and understand that grinding tension between making something good and making something that survives. The show hasn't become a cultural phenomenon, but it's built the kind of devoted following that suggests Apple's faith in it might actually be justified.

What's interesting about The Studio in the current landscape is how rare it is to see a show this interested in actual industry mechanics without trying to make it glamorous. It doesn't mythologize the studio head or the struggling auteur. It just shows people doing their jobs badly, which is more honest than most comedies manage.
