What is The Good Wife about?

Alicia Florrick is a woman who has spent fifteen years playing the supporting role in someone else's life, and The Good Wife is about what happens when that arrangement collapses publicly and humiliatingly. Her husband, the State's Attorney of Cook County, goes to prison for corruption and soliciting prostitutes. She goes back to work as a junior associate at a Chicago law firm, at forty, starting more or less from scratch.
