What is Nurse Jackie about?

Nurse Jackie is about a woman running on pills and lies. Jackie Peyton, played by Edie Falco, works in a chaotic Manhattan hospital where she is genuinely good at her job. But her competence is built on a foundation of prescription drug abuse, an affair, and the constant small deceits needed to keep two lives from colliding.
