Kaley Cuoco plays Cassie Bowden, a flight attendant who wakes up in a Dubai hotel room with a corpse beside her and absolutely no memory of how it got there. Rather than call the police, she goes about her day in a panic, which is the kind of decision that spirals fast. When the FBI shows up asking questions about an unrelated Bangkok incident, Cassie becomes convinced she might be a murderer. The show takes her spiraling paranoia and makes it the engine of a mystery that's part whodunit, part character study of a woman whose life is held together by compartmentalization and increasingly powerful denial.

The tone is what makes this work. The Flight Attendant sits somewhere between screwball comedy and genuine darkness, treating Cassie's blackouts and mental spiraling with the same weight it gives to her terrible jokes and worse life choices. The show doesn't sand down her selfishness to make her likable. She lies constantly, she steals, she hurts people she claims to care about, and sometimes the show laughs at her for it while other scenes sit with the damage she causes.
