Han So-hee plays Na-bi, an art student who has sworn off love after a painful relationship, only to find herself drawn into something casual with Jae-eon (Song Kang), a classmate whose flirtation is so smooth it feels almost practiced. The premise invites you in with the promise of a lighthearted fling, but the show keeps yanking the camera away from that comfort to stare at the mess underneath: the way casual turns complicated, the way one person always wants more, the way attraction can feel like drowning.

What makes Nevertheless distinctive is its willingness to sit in awkwardness rather than smooth it over with witty banter.
