Predictive Logic Analysis
Julie aired two seasons over approximately three years (2019-2022) with only 10 episodes total, suggesting sporadic production. The last season concluded in May 2022, and as of now, more than four years have passed with no renewal announcement, casting news, production update, or any signal from ULLU that a third season is in development. The absence of explicit cancellation language is typical for smaller streaming platforms, which often simply stop greenlit projects without formal public statements. ULLU, an Indian OTT service, does not maintain the high-profile renewal calendars of major US streamers, making silence the de facto cancellation signal in this market.
The show's minimal active-watcher count on Trakt (8 watchers, steady momentum) reflects a small, niche audience. Without IMDb rating data, critical reviews, or awards recognition mentioned, there is no counterbalancing evidence of strong reception that might warrant revival. The long gap between seasons (2020 to 2022), combined with the four-year post-finale silence, suggests the show was not a priority for the platform. ULLU's content strategy typically favors quick turnarounds on popular titles; a multi-year gap without any news is a strong negative signal in that context.
What is Julie about?
Julie centers on a woman whose comfortable existence unravels when she becomes the obsessive target of a dangerous admirer. What begins as unwanted attention escalates into a harrowing ordeal of psychological terror and physical peril, forcing the protagonist to confront both her stalker's depravity and the darker corners of her own life. The series positions itself as a thriller that mines tension from the cat-and-mouse dynamic between hunter and hunted, asking whether Julie can outwit an increasingly unhinged pursuer before his fixation turns fatal.
The show embraces the melodramatic intensity characteristic of digital streaming dramas aimed at adult audiences, blending mystery elements with the transgressive character work that defines prestige content in the Indian streaming space. Rather than relying solely on conventional police procedural beats, Julie appears to lean into the psychological dimensions of obsession and violation, positioning its narrative as something designed to disturb and provoke rather than simply entertain. The drama unfolds across a modest ten episodes across two seasons, suggesting a focused rather than sprawling narrative arc.
Since its debut in 2019, Julie has maintained an audience on the Ullu platform, a streaming service known for edgier, adult-oriented original programming. The show's persistence through two seasons indicates sufficient viewership to warrant continued investment, though it operates within the specialized ecosystem of digital platforms rather than commanding mainstream critical attention. It appeals specifically to viewers seeking darker psychological narratives with high stakes and morally complex scenarios.
Within the thriller-drama landscape, Julie occupies a particular niche: stories of obsession and survival that foreground female vulnerability confronting male violence. The series reflects a broader trend of streaming platforms exploring stalking and predatory behavior as dramatic material, situating itself alongside other psychological thrillers that examine the rupture of safety and autonomy. Its cultural footprint remains largely concentrated within dedicated digital audiences rather than achieving broader penetration into mainstream discourse.
Is Julie renewed or cancelled?
Working toward renewal
TMDB status shows 'Returning Series' (may be outdated)
Working against it
52 months since last episode with no renewal signal
No explicit cancellation statement from ULLU (typical for this platform)
Very small active viewership on Trakt (8 watchers)
Long production gaps between seasons suggest lower priority for platform
Julie Season 3 Release Date
If a third season were in active development, ULLU would likely have announced it or released a trailer by now, especially given the 52-month gap since the last episode. The absence of any production update, casting announcement, or release date makes an imminent return implausible. If the show were unexpectedly revived, a release would likely arrive 6-12 months after an announcement, but no such announcement appears to have occurred.

AI Verdict
Julie has not been renewed or mentioned in renewal discussions in the 52 months since its last episode aired in May 2022. The show's TMDB status lists it as returning, but with no renewal signal from the network and a very long silence, the show is almost certainly cancelled, though the lack of an explicit cancellation statement leaves some residual uncertainty.
